New Member Recruitment began on September 8, 1997. The turn out was phenomenal and on Friday, September 12 open bids were given out by surprise to all. Fifty women pledged on Saturday, September 13.
During the semester Beta Epsilon enjoyed several activities as a new chapter including: Homecoming, Twin Sisters' week, Sisterhoods and finally Initiation.
On November 22, 1997 Beta Epsilon signed their charter and initiated 50 sisters. In order to celebrate this truly memorable event, the chapter organized a dinner banquet at the Monmouth County Club with the National President of Alpha Xi Delta as their special dinner guest.
