Letter From Membership Vice President

Dear Potential New Members,

This is such an exciting time in your life. Whether it be preparing for your first year of college or the excitement of coming back for another year at Monmouth College, this is a time of wonderful anticipation filled with happiness and maybe some nervousness.

Two years ago, I was preparing to enter my first year of college, and, like some of you may be doing, I was questioning if sorority recruitment was the right fit for me. To be quite honest, I went back and forth on my decision as I discussed it with my parents and the friends I had made on Move-In Day. However, the night before recruitment began, I decided to give it a try. I had nothing to lose and everything to gain.  I cannot begin to tell you how happy I am that I made that decision.

Greek Life at Monmouth College is such a blessing in my life. It has given me friendships, it has motivated me to do my best academically, it has forced me to reach outside my comfort zone, and it has helped me develop as a leader.

I am so excited that you are interested in our awesome Greek Life and especially in Alpha Xi Delta. My two years so far in Alpha Xi Delta have created some of my best college memories. These include mattress surfing down the stairs of the Alpha Xi house, Homecoming dance practices, living in a quad with my sisters Liz, Galen, and Mary Kate, and watching bad Netflix movies until my face hurts from laughing.

Alpha Xi Delta has become our home and family at Monmouth College where we grow every day not only academically and socially, but also charitably as we support our philanthropy Autism Speaks.  I have no doubt that you will Realize your Potential here these next four years!

I sincerely hope that you will find your home away from home in Alpha Xi Delta or one of the other great organizations on campus. Myself and the other ladies of Alpha Xi Delta cannot wait to meet each and every one of you during formal recruitment! Best of Luck!
